Top 100 Home Grown Caribbean Power Brands

We are seeking to compile a definitive list of the top 100 Home Grown Caribbean Brands. The Brand must be market leaders in their respective categories and have market clout in that their activities have a noticeable impact on consumers and other market players.

We are also inviting the official brand owners to submit a 500 word review on the brand looking at its birth, growth, developments and challenges conquered to get to this point. We are also requesting a graphical representation of the logo to illustrate the review. These will also be posted on this site for reference purposes.

Press Registration Guidelines

Press credentials are reserved for editorial members of the working press and analysts. An established news outlet must currently employ those requesting media registration. A research or financial institution as either an industry analyst or financial analyst must currently employ analysts requesting accreditation.

Press registration is offered on a limited basis. AMK reserves the right to deny any applicant a press badge. Priority is given to members of the press with a direct, marketing, advertising, or interactive beat. Unfortunately we cannot issue credentials to publishers, those who write content for Web sites or e-newsletters, membership newsletters, contributing writers not currently under contract with a publication, corporate officers, or sales, advertising, public relations or technical support staff from any organization.

In order for AMK to process your request, you must submit the supporting documentation listed below, along with your name, editorial title, publication, address, phone, fax, e-mail and name of the event(s) you wish to attend as press via email to:

The pre-registered press list, including contact information, is typically shared with conference exhibitors, speakers, and sponsors. Please let us know if there is any contact information you would not like us to share with participants and your preferred contact method.

Submitting a request for a press registration does not automatically qualify you for a press badge. Registration will not be guaranteed for those who fail to submit the proper documentation.

Upon approval, all media registrants will receive a confirmation of their status via e-mail. Those who do not receive a confirmation should contact AMK at 876-310-9790.

Appropriate documentation requirements are as follows:

Trade and Business Publications/ Newspaper and Wires Services

Provide two of the following three items:

1. A business card with your editorial title from an established publication or media outlet,

2. A current masthead that includes your name and editorial title,

3. Two bylined industry-related articles published within the last six months.

Broadcast TV/Radio Reporters, Producers and Camera/Sound Crews

1. A business card with your name, station, and title that represents these roles, or

2. A broadcast station identification card with your name and title that represents these roles.

Freelance Writers/Reporters/Authors

1. Original letter (on letterhead) of assignment or a copy of your contract from the editor-in-chief at a news organization, and

2. Two samples of bylined industry-related articles published within the last six months

Unfortunately, those who are not currently under contract are not eligible for media credentials

Analysts

Writers and analysts from internationally recognized market research firms or financial institutions, who write on a consistent basis for regularly published reports, must provide the following:

  1. A business card with name, editorial/analyst title, and analyst firm logo and
  2. A bylined copy of a white paper, briefing or report with a direct/marketing/ advertising/or interactive topic, published within the last six months.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received by April 2nd, 2008 will receive a full refund. After this date no refunds will be issued. Substitutions may be made at any time and without charge, but replacements are also subject to the qualification requirements. All substitutions and cancellations must be submitted in writing to AMK Communications Limited, Suite #3, 27 Manning’s Hill Road Kingston 8 Jamaica.

Corporate purchase orders are not accepted. AMK reserves the right to provide qualified substitute speakers in the event of emergency, illness or other like event. If for any reason AMK has to cancel a workshop or session, the attendee is still responsible for the full amount of their registration fee. AMK will make every attempt to immediately notify registrants of any changes or cancellations. Space in conference sessions is on a first-come, first-served basis. AMK reserves the right to close registration for sessions if necessary.

The 2008 Caribbean Power Marketing Conference culminates with the inaugural “Grande” Caribbean Peer Awards Gala, recognizing and awarding professionals for outstanding achievements within the field of Marketing.

Conference Goals

The following core Goals have been established for this inaugural event:

  • To provide an annual forum that brings together marketing professionals from around the world for the exchange of ideas, thoughts, and strategies

  • To provide a platform to highlight the expertise within the Marketing communities.

  • To establish benchmarks for excellence within our regional marketing community and to increase the level of local and regional competitiveness.

  • To establish a professional marketing fraternity within our regional markets through The Caribbean Association of Marketing Professionals - CAMP.

Conference Sustainability.

As continual development occurs within our global environment, we foresee this inaugural project being the first in a series of its kind, taking place annually. And, as depicted by the conference title, each Caribbean country will be targeted to host future Caribbean Power Marketing Conferences.

Conference Format.

The 2008 Caribbean Power Marketing Conference will be staged over a period of three (3) days in May 2008. The conference will be structured around individual presentations, panel discussions and workshops all delivered by renowned marketing professionals, academics and pioneers within the industry.

Other facets to The 2008 Caribbean Power Marketing Conference include business appointments, pitch sessions and social functions to promote networking opportunities amongst participants

Proposed presentation areas

The proposed presentations will seek to explore the growth of regional and multi-national brands within our domestic markets; the opening of borders which has facilitated an increase in regional movement and trade; and the level, extent and intensity of competitiveness within these regional and global markets.

Sessions at this year’s conference will feature professionals and leading scholars and promise to provide valuable insight and discussion opportunities for all participants.
